Hello, I am Lidya Angelia. People call me Lidya. I come from Palembang, South Sumatera. I was born there about eighteen and a half years ago. I also lived there with my parents and my siblings before I move to Jakarta to continue my study. I am currently a film student of Binus International University. In Jakarta, I live alone in a boarding house on Jalan Hang Lekir 8 No. 17 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
One interesting thing about me is the number of siblings that I have. I am the first child of my parents, the first of five. That means I have 4 younger siblings, 2 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers. And our age differences to each other are not so far. Basically, our age differences are only one or two years. That is why we are so close to each other.
I say this is one interesting thing about me because usually when I say about it to some friends, they will get surprised. They think I have too many younger siblings. That is normal because people nowadays usually only have a few children, one, two, or at the most, three. And they also usually say it must be not easy to have many younger siblings, moreover I am the eldest one. Well, having many siblings is actually quite fun because it means you will have many friends to play with and to share something with at home.
My Younger Siblings and I
One example of thing we share together is our hobbies. My siblings and I are generally have similar hobbies. We love to eat, we love to read, we love to listen to hit songs (and also sing it), and the most fun one, we love to watch movie. We often buy some movie DVDs then we will watch it together on the weekend. We usually watch a science fiction movie, but sometimes we also watch comedy, horror, and animation. At our house, we have a movie DVD collection, but they are only the new movies which are just released. And we usually choose a movie for all ages. It is because it will be difficult for my youngest brother who is just twelve years old to understand the story of movies for teenager and adult, and also my mother sometimes joins us watching movies so it will be awkward when she knows we watch a movie with so many romantic scenes (kiss scene for example).
But, although having many siblings is fun, sometimes, it is not that fun when you have something limited (when you only have 2 laptops, for example) and you have to share it with your siblings (because on the exactly same time, your siblings and you really need that laptop to finish each of your school assignments). Usually, the older one should give in to the younger one. And I am the eldest one so I am the one who almost always give in to my younger siblings (thankfully now I have my own laptop). But it is fine because I know it is what an older sister must do for her younger siblings.
